The authors of this podcast seem to have set out to slay the mythical dragons that are associated with the popularized history of waring states Japan. This is a great way to be introduced to resources (books, journal articles) for your own explorations.

I have a strong but amateur interest in Japanese art and history. I’ve learned so much from listening to these guys riff on history — including the ability to admit when they don’t know. Just helps make it all much more accessible and comfortable! Thank you!
