Rambley military history bros
When they're on, they're on, going into fascinating, detailed and well researched info about the military history of Japan. A+! They touch on great topics less militarily inclined historians find "irrelevant"... like the entire Sengoku period before Nobunaga. Seriously, I cannot recommend that aspect of the show highly enough! But when they get on to a tangent, good lord. If you're driving and can't fast forward, I hope you like lengthy complaints about how military history can't get no respect or how women don't like military history (I have two X chromosomes and beg to differ!) and other such topics. On one memorable occasion they went on for over twenty minutes (I counted!) on the subject of why speculation and alternate history is pointless in an episode that was ABOUT them speculating on a possible alternate history of Japan. Don't get me wrong, I love the conversational nature of the show, but it gets a bit much unless you fast forward.Read full review »

And that's the point of being a history teacher. When I first downloaded this podcast, I was really only interested in the battles of the Sengoku period. I am a Shogun 2 Total War player myself and became a japanese history maniac overnight ! This podcast is a perfect starting point for all the westerns who love japanese culture.
