“As an old fan of Dr. Floyd, I've been listening to this podcast with interest since it started. This show has a lot of things going for it: great writing, entertaining performers and interesting premises. Unfortunately, that last one is also its biggest problem. Notice I didn't say premise (singular), but rather premises (plural). The show has, so far, been a superhero comedy, an underwater spaghetti western, and an I-don't-even-know-what-to-call-it about a boy and his pet dragon, interspersed with a number of entertaining but unrelated "hiatus" episodes.
If it were simply a variety show I could understand and enjoy it as such, but the way it's presented it feels more like Grant simply keeps losing interest in writing a given story and abandons it without ever offering any resolution to the plot lines he has going. Will he ever return to the old stories? Who knows? So far there's been no evidence that he ever will and it makes for a very frustrating listening experience. I find myself less and less willing to allow myself to get invested in any new stories only to have them disappear into the ether.
I'm not looking for a "Return of Dr. Floyd" multi-season arc. New stories and casts with a bunch of variety is fine and welcome. But it needs to at least tell a few complete stories. This would be a great podcast if only they provided plot resolutions before moving on or else simply produced and aired the multiple storylines concurrently- say a new "Thunder Crester" one week followed by "Deputy Guppy" a week or two later. As it is, I'm so frustrated I haven't even bothered to catch up on the last few episodes. I'll check back in eventually and see what's going on but, for now, *I'm* the one who needs a hiatus.”Read full review »

“She was sad to see Dr Floyd go off the air, we found it in the last 2 seasons, but now she has this and actually thinks these guys are about as goofy as daddy.”
