Thoughtful stories about American society
I'm a huge podcast listener. So I'm really excited that veteran radio producer and teacher at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke, John Biewen, has started a new podcast called Scene on Radio. The first two episodes look at sports and how it can (or cannot) act as a bridge between race and class in America. Are sports "good for us"? Can they bring us together? The first episode looks at the winning Cardinals baseball team in St. Louis, post-Ferguson. The second episode features teammates on a girls high school basketball team. Very thoughtful, funny (nice Reagan impression!), and innovative. Love how the ending invites the listener to question the narrative we hear—and to create our own.Read full review »

Had to write a review in hopes that more folks come across the Seeing White series. Not a ton has been shocking as individual pieces of information, but the accumulated picture it portrays of our national reality is haunting me and changing me. Thank you for creating this resource.
