daring and profound
this is the podcast that made me care about podcasts. incredibly thoughtful, insightful, curious, honest, searching, compassionate. upbeat but realistic -- the masterful john biewen doesn't sugarcoat anything, but there is an optimism that springs up. that maybe we can realize we're all in this together. maybe we can accept that most, if not all, of our divisive differences are imagined. that maybe we'll figure out that we are each other's only hope. love the pieces he creates, as well as the phenomenal work of his former students and other guest contributors. keep up the good work!Read full review »

So grateful to the folks at Scene on Radio for this project. Just finished listening to their "Seeing Whiteness" series - so drawn in and challenged by the host's journey to thoughtfully dissect the idea of whiteness. White folks (like me) need to listen up.

I've never paused or stopped an episode. Scene on Radio rivals This American Life - the highest bar set to date. In fact, right now, I prefer it. I can't turn it off.Read full review »

The "Seeing White" series is the most intelligent, nuanced podcast discussion of racist ideas out there. Worth listing to every episode, carefully and in full.Read full review »
