“Definitely worth the space on your ipod. I discovered this series very recently (about a month ago), and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the podcasts, both in terms of the actual science content as well as the comedic content. Most shows that try to be about both tend to fall flat in one area or another, or they separate the science from the funny, but The Science Jerks manages to find an exremely happy medium, thanks in no small part to its highly enthusiastic hosts. They clearly are quite passionate about (if not knowledgeable of) the subject matter, and this energy brings the audience along for a wild ride. Both of the hosts play off each other incredibly well, as do all of the guests thus far, who are the second ingredient in this delicious stew of sciencey perfection. The guests vary in quality, as is to be expected, and each brings something different to the table. Some of them really get into the science aspect of things, raising new and interesting questions in regards to the research that Chan and Ciaccio didn't think to bring up, while others are clearly only there to drink and be funny as hell. Still others manage to hit a sweet spot somewhere in the middle. Whilst the show is young, and relatively undiscovered as of yet, I'm looking forward to it becoming a big deal in the years to come. I know it's tough knowing that your fanbase is so tiny, but hang in there guys! Someday, I hope you two get a syndicated talk show. I, for one, would listen to it every day.”Read full review »
