Unnecessarily alarmist CRISPR
Frustrating interview on the part of the journalist who seemed hellbent on extracting a biased commentary from the otherwise measured, interesting interviewee scientists. The interviewer interjected with comments which contradicted the scientists being interviewed? Why? This is sad because the subject was fascinating. Next time please focus on the story of the science and allow the interviewers to provide the facts of the matter. What makes matters worse, there were rather offensive things implied in respect of Chinese scientists in general: that they are more likely to act “rogue”, quite rightly the interviewer was put in her place by the two western scientists being interviewed who made parallels to the experience with IVF innovators who also went “rogue”. ABC: check your bias.

More reviews of Science Friction
A great podcast showcasing some very innovative women in science but the show notes are seriously lacking. Some more biographical information about your guests and links to the papers you are talking about would really add to your show

I’ve listened to half a dozen episodes, hoping the series wld improve. Sadly it hasn’t. I guess some listeners may enjoy the gushy presentation and the weak-minded content. For me, it’s a yawn.
