“Scott Sigler prides himself on making larger-than-life monsters with a basis in hard science, as seen in past hits like ANCESTOR. But what happens when the monsters are smart enough to integrate unseen into society, using human technology even as they stalk their prey? And what happens when the cops trying to solve the case come up against a conspiracy in their own department trying to keep things covered up? Scott has created a compelling story here, and while he doesn't delve too deeply into the emotional lives of his characters, he does make the protagonists likable and interesting enough to keep you thoroughly wrapped up in the plot. “Nocturnal is looking to be another Scott Sigler smash hit! The quality of the presentation adds to the already exceptional story. Having followed Scott like a god damn junky looking for his next fix, it is good to get a new story to fill that hole.
