“Joey and the team are doing an excellent job. Putting Le Carre into an Australian perspective. I think lots of Aussies have wondered at various times just how effective ASIO really is. We were told recently that a politician has been passing secrets to a potential enemy. Have we heard any more?...”Read full review »
“I’m confused as to why Ian Peacock isn’t even mentioned in the podcast? His name was released last year quite openly, if you want to say there was another one or that it wasn’t Peacock then that’s fine but the complete omission doesn’t make sense to me.”

“A very good body of work, the dedication to this cause is quite something and casts a light on a chapter of Australia’s history that more people need to be reminded of. Hats off to you and the team.

“I’m loving this show.
It’s a joy to listen to a young, smart and fearless journalist. And even better when his talents are turned on some crusty Cold War era spies and their tangle of secrets.
Highly recommend.”

“In episode 6, the narrator ‘discovers’ the names of four ASIO officers suspected of being KGB assets. In a book published years ago by British spy book author, Ruper Allason, writing under the pen name Nigel West. Way to go, Joey. You’ve found four names. After reading a book. What about doing...”Read full review »

“So well produced and entertaining. Love investigative journalism. Will highly recommend to my friends. Unfortunate to see so much corruption in my lifetime. Hope for the release of the Cook report.”
“Been watching UK Series Slow Horses (fiction-ish) and then listened to this - truth really is stranger than fiction. I love that each episode has new and even more shocking discoveries. How could it remain secret for so long? Where there’s a will..
I like Joey’s humorous relaxed manner yet he...”Read full review »

“Five stars to Joey Watson and team for a riveting and well-researched thriller. An important and unresolved story in Australia’s history. Thanks for all the hard work and kudos to LiSTNR for commissioning.”
“Fascinating to hear Russ talk about his origins with Woomera (an absolute top bloke, by the way).
And while I can’t imagine that the town necessarily put on a warm welcome, it was so interesting to hear it’s part to play in this story that you are telling.
Fantastic podcast, look forward to...”Read full review »

“Really loving this so far — every episode seems to bring more questions to our attention. Through looking at a historical mystery around Australian intelligence, we are also learning about what might be happening in the present. Brilliant journalism and storytelling! Can’t wait for next week”

“Thankyou for your truth telling. It’s long overdue. I spent most of the podcast in tears. I was the victim/survivor of forced adoption. I was adopted out at birth in 1965. I spent my childhood wondering why I was different. At age 17 my adoptive parents finally told me the truth. They had lied...”Read full review »

“I was unmarried and pregnant at 17. My only saving grace was that this was the early 90’s and the forced adoption practices had ended. My heart breaks for the women before me who had lost their babies, only due to this horrific policy of the times. When I reflect on the support that I received...”Read full review »
“Very important to bring out that many women of many backgrounds were forced to give up their babies for adoption. There is further on this in the 50s and 60 s when illegal abortions were performed before pregnancy turned into child birth. My grandmother was one of many that performed these ...”Read full review »

“Really loved this podcast, I looked forward to listening to each episode.
Open my mind to other families who have just as many secrets especially in the 40s to 80s
I was shocked at just what Australia authorities did in the day.
Look forward to the next series”

“I am really happy to find this podcast. I was an ‘adopted’ baby in January 1964 born in Crown Street. I’m under the impression I was just a handover. I wish there were more episodes.
My sister and I have another sister who was born and stolen before us. Mum is to traumatised to talk about it.
How about an episode about the siblings. X”
