So well done, factual, verbatim testimony from the grand jury means that the facts can't be disputed, first person interviews from clinic workers, investigators the DA's office. Shocking and pertinent to both sides of the argument. Why weren't these clinics inspected? Why weren't qualifications verified for a medical procedure. Why was this allowed to go on for decades? How many other women died that we don't know about? What other regions don't inspect abortion clinics? Why weren't suspicious deaths investigated? Does anyone inspect "medical waste?" had they done so they would have found full term babies born alive with their necks cut.Read full review »

I understand that the emotional hook of how upset the police were is powerful for the story, but that and focusing on the prosecutors lines of questioning about how perfect the “babies” were , is a bit misleading and muddies the waters about the problem here. I read the book when it was first released, and was mightily - and rightly - horrified.
