Taking Van Der Kolk out of Context
This is an extremely poor podcast that takes the incredibly ground breaking work of Dr Van Der Kolk a preeminent trauma expert psychiatrist deeply out of context and makes out like he supported recovered memories which he does not. He is supporting victims who post trauma disclose abuse and are not believed. This is a common thing for people to not disclose till later, on average 22 years post. See the findings of the Australian Royal commission into Institutional Child Abuse. I’m sorry but you’ve lost me. This reporting is practically medieval and just terrible- where you could have a robust and nuanced discussion of the mental health system you have instead exposed yourself as a click bait journalist with no credibility or research skills

Astounding that this is going...Read full review »
