“The Shankcast is an innovative concept in a way that it revolves around tennistic concepts and general topics in resonance with its core audience: passionate amateur players.
Although I am not an English native speaker, it is easy to feel the friendly atmosphere and complicity among the members of the team.
I believe it is a good tool to broaden your knowledge and views about tennis and question some beliefs you may have (who said underhand serve?)
Please guys continue explaining the specificities of the US tennis world (rating system, leagues) so that your international audience can keep up the pace ;) (I won't mind the jokes and small talk since it is part of your relationships).
Good thing also is the quality of the audio despite the fact we can still hear some echo in the recording room.
Here are some suggestions of (heated?) debates for the next episodes:
1)"the impact of the national cultures on tennis"
It would be great to hear Kevin's point of view on this since he spent some time in Spain in the past. Did he see a difference in the approach of teaching/playing tennis?
Based on my experience in France, we rather focus on the gesture and technical aspects of the strokes compared to mental toughness (at some expenses)
2) "do women and men approach tennis the same way?"
Do you see differences between the WTA and ATP tours? Are tactics similar or specific sometimes?
3) "loopholes in the tennis rules"
The 3 of you mentioned this topic during the episode about the underhand serve. Would it be worthwhile to explore this topic?
Keep on the good work !
Kind regards

“Spent the last couple of months listening to all 350 odd episodes of the Essential Tennis podcast which is also awesome. This is more of a fun thing, just as good though and also has Megan and Kevin on it chatting to Ian. Can’t wait to hear more.”

“Ian, Kevin & Meghan have varied backgrounds in the tennis profession and have lots of smart insights. Great fun to listen to, informative, humorous, but grounded & practical.”
