Just resubscribed!
I can't even remember how I found this podcast but I've been listening off & on since maybe episode 5. I just heard Shannon on Snap Judgement and it reminded me to resubscribe. Shannon has tried using the podcast to put out some writing exercises, short stories, and true stories, both live and in studio. I think there have been some good ones right from the start but his podcast definitely tends to get better as it goes on. It sounds like he's getting enough attention that he's now touring with Snap , the Moth, etc. It's great to know that hes getting that kind of recognition. I listen to a LOT of podcasts but this is my first review. Shannon's doing this on his own, for the love of writing and performing. I want to let him know that I appreciate his work and hope he keeps podcasting even as bigger opportunities seem to be opening up. Thanks Shannon!Read full review »

I just found this podcast and I LOVE it. I thing you will too. Shannon has a melodious voice and an under represented perspective of a black man growing up in Detroit and now living in various neighborhoods in Chicago. Give it a listen and you'll be hooked just like I am.Read full review »

These stories are excellent and read by an outstanding narrator and writer. As a student hoping to become a writer I was very inspired and motivated by these great stories. Each one demands multiple listens. Keep writing, never stop writing.

If there is a more original or compelling storyteller than Shannon Cason, I haven't heard him. Imagine if Mark Twain had grown up in Detroit. Or if Langston Hughes had written in the age of Hip Hop and not Bebop. Well, you don't have to imagine it. Simply listen to Shannon's...Read full review »
