Corrine O’Connell is an accomplished and well rounded adventurer who has summited great mountains and cycled entire countries. Aware of lost time, this ambitious adventurer always has her sights set on her next challenge. Corrine discovered her sense of adventure later in life, and the little things in nature and exploring are appreciated more by Corrine because of this. Pink sunsets, rolling valleys, moody clouds and even a pie and a coke at the end, make journeys that little bit sweeter for her. Corrine started this path in her own backyard, the Christchurch Port Hills – a wonderful training ground for microadventures. Corrine displays her appreciation of nature through her storytelling and photography which is another passion of hers. Corrine’s resume is nothing but admirable, she is a 2x Tour Aotearoa finisher, Marathon runner, Coast to Coast participant and traveled to many amazing places, with Everest Base Camp being a highlight. Corrine looks forward to adding the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge to the list and is a proud ambassador for the event in 2019. However impressive this may be, Corrine’s close ones do not consider these to be her most impressive feats, and her brothers say that it is her laidback nature and optimistic personality that makes her the perfect adventure buddy and role model. Corrine has encouraged and inspired those around her to live a lifestyle that is being forgotten nowadays. Corrine is an interesting and inspiring person in many people’s lives and they all acknowledge her passion for the outdoors and her continued journey of challenging herself to achieve her goals and dreams.
