Shirley is a lovely person - and this interview series is stunning and she manages to access spectacularly talented and senior sailors. Her interview style is so gentle yet positively probing.

A podcast that appeals to smelly boot sailors and landlubbers alike. Shirley does not present a sailing podcast (I am sorry Shirley) but interviewing charismatic and inspirational individuals that happen to get salty. Her passion and the passion of her guests is palpable.

I love these pods. They get me re-enthused about sailing each time. One small ask-could you do some interviews with high achieving amateurs? Maybe shorter in length, but would help us mere mortals understand how they achieve so much whilst having ‘normal’ jobs. And some of the old timers who...Read full review »

Best sailing journalist around! The interviews keep getting better. Absolutely loved the one with Alex Thompson. I just subscribed to your podcast after listening to your interviews and play by play during the Prada Cup. What a professional! Superb interview with Tracy Edwards

Every single one is a nugget, and worthy of part 3 and 4! Kenny Read was brilliant and had so much more, Skip Novak as well, and Dee Caffari was just so modest and an inspiration. More more more please.

One of the best podcasts out there by a long way. Incredible guests plus Shirley is a brilliant, knowledgeable and insightful host. The only downside is that more is never enough.

I’m not a sailor but have always followed the America’s cup yacht racing. An avid Team nz supporter. I have really enjoyed Shirley podcasts - to date I have listened to Ben Ainslie and Jimmy Spittals. I found them both very interesting. I look forward to Shirley interviewing some of the kiwis...Read full review »

Hi Shirley. I love your series, and it looks like all your reviewers do too. During COVID lockdowns I’ve started listening to lots of podcasts and I hope you won’t mind me making a few constructive suggestions? 1. Trim down the intros. Most of your guests need little introduction to sailing...Read full review »

I’m a lifelong sailor and have been really enjoying Shirley’s AC commentary, which led me to this podcast - just loving it. All the legends open up to Shirley both because of her brilliant manner and questioning style, but also because she is a legend herself and has their respect. Loving it!

Informative, brilliantly presented. Shirley’s laid back approach with great questions, bring out the best of her interviewees. Her own immense medal winning knowledge allows her to bring the mist relevant questions to the table, whilst never mentioning her own great sailing career. Excellent.
