This how language podcasts should sound!
I've only been learning Spanish (on my own) for a year, so I am trying to improve my listening skills. I decided to plunge into this level as a challenge, but also because it is nearer to normal Spanish. The team presenting this are extremely likable and their banter at the beginning (in Spanish) is very natural, and reasonably easy to undestand. This gives you confidence to listen to the rest of the programme. Again, the situations are all very realistic and enjoyable - not the usual Learn-A-Language stereotypes - and you get a good sense of the spoken language on first listening. The "interval" with tips on colloquial Spanish, tongue-twisters and jokes is a good (jokey) idea. In the second half of the podcast Mark goes over the language and grammar points of the first half. He does this very clearly giving you ample time to have ago yourself at developing (really quite difficult/impressive) phrases. The team are so agreeable and natural that listening again to the podcasts is no boring routine - you really do notice something new each time. Without I hope sounding too much like a maketeer, this is really how language podcasts should sound. An excellent series.Read full review »
