Gabbing with friends
I have been listening to Slate Culture Gabfest since it began. I love it. Here are the reasons: 1. It is just like sitting down with friends talking about a movie or a book or a piece of art. 2. Dana, Steven, and Julia have a chemistry that has evolved. They truly respect each other but are not above teasing, disagreeing with, and challenging each other. 3. They keep me in the cultural loop and help me discern what I want to watch, listen to, visit. The only downside to this podcast, for me, is that I wish I could sit in the room with them--like when they were just discussing Derry Girls. I wanted to be part of the conversation! I guess that speaks to how relatable Steve, Dana, and Julia are. Oh, and I would be remiss if I didn't mention guest commentators that come on the Gabfest. They are equally engaging and bring new flavors and ideas to the table.Read full review »

This is one of my two favorite pop culture podcasts (along with Pop Culture Happy Hour). It’s fun and insightful and I regularly learn about new movies or TV shows to watch, books, to read, and much more from it. I look forward to its release every week!
