Good listen...
Just listened to the first episode Via the Slow Burn podcast. I kind of remember it but was only 7 when it happened. I grew up an hour away in Montana, and my mother is from Bonner’s Ferry. I’m looking forward to the future episodes and getting a hold of my family members who remember when it happened and what they can recall about the event.

My thanks to Slate for a deep dive into an piece of American history I lived through, but was too young to properly analyze and contextualize at the time it was happening. I just tried the first episode for the second time, and I immediately remembered why I turned it off the first time. It’s one thing to be empathetic but this slides right past that into sympathizing and downplaying. You lost me at “one small man..” Do not recommend.
