Forrest Wickman is an absolute doughnut
I recently listened to the Blade Runner 2049 Spoiler Special in an attempt to find a substitute for the lack of one from Empire Magazine. I was encouraged to see that Dana Stevens was hosting this episode and hoped that I would listen to a detailed account of the film and some interesting perspectives, unfortunately this was not the case. Dana was absolutely fine and mostly posed questions rather than giving her take (therby fulfilling her position as host), and Sam Adams explained his opinion well and gave an honest perspective, but Forrest Wickman is a clown and really let the podcast down. I have no idea how I managed to get through 40 minutes of Forrest (somehow culture editor at Slate) interjecting with his nonsense about this film. He repeatedly made very odd statements without backing them up with any sort of explanation, normally trailing off into incoherence. Whilst the film wasn't perfect by any means for me, (8/10) I do feel like Forrest had it in for this movie. Not sure I can remember one positive take from him on what is by no means a bad film. His criticism of Villeneuve was particularly funny. Hope this podcast improves by removing him from the show.Read full review »

I don't mind finding out the ending of a film before I watch it; a lot of times, knowing the outcome helps me better follow the picture. This podcast was great for that as well as for listening about movies that I had already seen and was still sort of wondering about. The dialogue isn't...Read full review »

The concept for this podcast is really strong. I always enjoy guaging whether my immediate reaction to a film, particularly to its twists and turns, matches up with those of the podcasters. I've noticed a dip in the amount of podcasts on new film releases. Would really love to hear more, so...Read full review »
