Wow!
So many emotions when I listen to this podcast! Reliving this same scenario as the mama in episode 1 with my son who was in Reading Recovery and when my husband I questioned the look at the picture and guess strategy she shut the book and promptly ended the session and declared our son had “failed” her program! I am angry that 20 years later they are still teaching students these ineffective strategies. My prayer is this helps speed up change that needs to happen in literacy instruction.
