Inviting, irreverent, vulnerable, & fun
Although a commitment to full disclosure requires me to admit that I'm a friend of the host, I don't simply want to point to our friendship out of a sense of obligation not to mislead you. I also want to point to our friendship out of pride: I'm so proud of him for what he's doing with this podcast. If you want to live your best life--perhaps even what host Peter McGraw calls a remarkable life--then you need to live with thoughtful intention and with the best team you can recruit. If you have the wherewithal within you to do it, and the resources at your command to do it, Solo will give you the advice you need. I can still hear echoes of Ep. 1, on living intentionally ("life doesn't happen to me--I happen to life"), on assembling a team (financial planner, therapist, barber or hairstylist, and more), on the ways that dates can be energized when they don't all fall into the chilling shadow of searching for a spouse (you can just enjoy each conversation for its own sake). And I'll keep hearing those echoes. As an unmarried college professor who is always looking to do something interesting, I am confident that I will learn a lot from each episode of Solo. And, judging by what I've heard so far, Pete and his guests (and occasional guest hosts) will be combine vulnerability, irreverence, and clear thinking into an inviting mix. Listen to it, and pass it on to a friend.Read full review »

I’m so glad this podcast exists and is giving us language to define relationships that exist outside the “norm”. The humor in the show is also great and I find myself laughing frequently.

Even if you’re not solo, this is a great podcast about finding happiness and fulfillment in any choice of lifestyle. The host is smart without being pretentious.
