Sounds like a middle school production
I absolutely adore Ashley Flowers and Crime Junkie, so I couldn’t wait for this new series. Unfortunately, the middle schoolers I teach have created more engaging podcasts than this one. It really sounds like the two hosts are 7th graders who are bored and nervous, writing a script full of strange asides (for example we don’t need to know that Jackson, Mississippi is named after a president... first, we knew that, and second it doesn’t relate to your main topic in anyway... and those types of choices are everywhere) and presenting very little important information in each episode. The policeman gives a blow by blow about the weather, the directions, the bystanders’ names... tons of details that are not relevant... while the lady just keeps repeating herself and not moving the story along. The entire first episode could have been summed up in a sentence. Overall a super disappointing production. I hate to leave audiochuck any poor reviews, but ironically it’s that I am so used to Ashley’s engaging style and highly informative episodes that I just couldn’t deal with this production. Maybe I’ll join the highest fan club level of Crime Junkie instead and get more content that way!

Audiochuck usually has a great production unfortunately, this one just didn’t hit the mark. Very interesting case(s) but I’m not going to be able to make it past episode 6. I tried. 🥺

It was put together well the only thing I have to say is I listen to the pod cast while driving so whenever the sound effects of police cars happen I have a little panic trying to figure out where the car is before realizing it’s on the audio.
