“The format for this podcast features a novel approach to the discussion of film: instead of the outsider’s perspective of a critic, or the voice of somebody directly involved in a project, Wilner’s guests are industry insiders who have no involvement with the movie being discussed. This allows the guest to critique the movie from the perspective of a fan, but to also pull back the curtain on the mechanics of film-making. The key question posed at the end of each show asks the guest whether they use anything from the particular film in their own work.
