Unequivocally 5 starts because Tiffany is an amazing human, advocate, educator and host. Yes, Rachel's voice was incredibly grating but putting it on 1.25x speed immensely helped. Let's not forget she is also a survivor who was incredibly vulnerable and sharing her story. Tiffany's...Read full review »

Started off ok and it escalated to an awful listen so fast. I can’t do it. So disappointed as it had potential. I agree with all of the negative reviews.

I really enjoy this podcast and have been listening for a few years. The one big ask I have is to STOP putting Data Points or WCN into the feed all the time. If I was interested I’d go listen to them. I get trying to introduce people do them, but once a season is enough.

I’m really struggling to listen to season 17. That mother blaming the medical community for failing her son Jace when she was the one who failed him. Letting a stranger be alone with her fragile toddler after barely knowing him is just unbelievable! And not paying attention to her sisters hard...Read full review »

Omg Rachael! I hope you hear yourself on this podcast and change your cadence. Your voice is absolutely awful. Like nails on a chalkboard. Girl, get it together.

I don’t want to listen to data points. Please don’t roll other podcasts into yours. It makes me not want to listen to you because I feel like you’re trying to force me to listen to something I didn’t subscribe to. And, Gah, I can’t even got played, so they keep trying to sneak in. "Women making reallllllly dumb decisions about men" would be a better name for the podcast. I really liked it at the beginning, and maybe I'm just in the midst of a long string of episodes that are essentially all the same, but I've become bored with it.Read full review »

Listening to Rachel speak on this podcast is like getting lost in a maze of vocal fry and… uptalk? She seems to have perfected the art of sounding perpetually unsure of herself? Every sentence feels like it’s desperately searching for approval, which makes even the most straightforward statements...Read full review »

The three stars is because the first part of the season was so great. I couldn’t finish this season because the voice on the narrator was raising my blood pressure too much. Also, I’m not sure where the story was going but it felt like it could have gotten to the point faster. When I left he...Read full review »

I am having a physical reaction to the sound of Rachel’s voice. The uptalk, the dragged vowels, it sounds like she’s chewing her face like gum. “I went to schooo-wall with him?” Does the producer listen to these recordings before releasing them, or

listening to Rachel try to get through a sentence in season 21 is maddening. I live in Southern California so almost everyone talks like that here but oh my GOD. The valley girl voice is painful.

It’s unbearable to hear Rachel speak! How did this story make the cut?!

This used to be one of my favorite podcasts to listen to. This show has gone downhill, especially over the last few seasons. Gah I cannot stand Rachel’s voice!!! Are you asking a question? Are you telling a story? What are we doing here?

I have been listening since the beginning of this podcast and love it so so much, but Rachel’s voice is so hard to listen to!! Other than that this podcast keeps me entertained while at work.

This latest story about Josh and Annie is very interesting. But I do not understand a sane human being talking like Rachael. What is going on? Annie and Lauren talk normally. I don’t want to be cruel, and I hope Rachael hears herself and alters her cadence. It is so difficult to listen to her speak.

For each season 1-3 other than that it. Not that the stories were not meaningful but the topics became repetitive

Listening to Season 21 episode with Lauren + Amanda was almost as bad to sticking a pen in my eye. The vocal fry of one guests made me turn this show off. If you’ve listened then you know exactly what I’m referring to. Please listen before publishing.

Rachel made it almost impossible to listen. Cringe and annoying the way she narrates the story
Cringe rachel via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/04/24
The first few seasons of this show are excellent….then it just gets BAD until season 20 which was good and easier to listen to. The stories are outrageous and the people who speak need some direction because their cadence makes listening insufferable

Season 21 (episodes 13 and 14)Rachel’s voice is like nails on a chalkboard. I think I’ll have to skip over the next two episodes she is in. It’s a shame because I pay for Wondery just for this podcast and Rachel and her Loudermilk voice is ruining it.
HoneyBunny45 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/04/24
Oh my I wanted to cringe every time Racheal was talking. There’s nothing that irritates me more then when someone tells a story and every sentence becomes a drawn out quuueeesssrriioomn???? Otherwise Tiffany is amazing love what she does to give survivors a voice❤️❤️

...but instead, I'm unfollowing. The song: I never want to hear it again. The host: With every show, her "I am SO sorry that happened to you" sounds like a recording. The stories: Are you people serious? "I brought someone back to my apartment the night I met him, and then I...Read full review »

Love this podcast so much. The deeply emotional stories draw you in and warn you about the dangers hiding in shadows in this world. The depth of the stories leaves you with an emotional imprint that lasts far after the episodes are finished. Thank you for sharing your stories. It’s incredibly brave.

Just finished listening to season 2 about Sylvia, it’s wild! After all that, I wouldn’t believe that chick was dead unless I saw her in her coffin and had a hold of the death certificate myself.

Overall, I think it’s a very good podcast. But the reviews on here don’t pass the vibe check. This podcast shares people’s story with abuse, trauma, some very heavy stuff. It’s someone’s story. I finally figured out why the host refuses to change the horrifying circus cacophony of a theme song, despite the fact that her long-time listeners unanimously and vocally despise it - she’s the loud, flat, off-key woman singing backup. Every time they play this song or a cover of it, she gets a...Read full review »

I was glued to the podcast, the first 5 seasons but Tiffany is so liberal and woke that I can’t stand it anymore. She needs to keep her own politics out of it and just let the people tell their story.

Recently I started listening to Season 18 and I was so enthralled that I listened to the latter seasons and then started at Season 1. I’ve been a listener since the first season. Through listening to this show, I have learned so much from this podcast and how important it is to not give anyone my trust until they deserve it. Thank you for this show!

I am a big fan of this show and all of Tiffany’s work. That being said, I have to skip these three remaining episodes of the show. I initially gave this podcast 4 stars when I had listened to the first three seasons. Now that I’m in season 19 I’m giving it five stars. It’s amazing to me how many people get scammed by “friends”. I do like the way this podcast exposes the tangled web people can weave to ensnare people for their own selfish reasons

I’ve tried. Seriously. But these women are only victims of bad judgement, poor choices, weakness and sometimes stupidity. On top of that, it’s boring.

What fascinates me about these sagas is how incredibly stupid and naive the women “victims” are. Especially season 20. Bless her heart. Desperate and pathetic.

While I enjoyed the first 5-6 seasons of this podcast, with each passing season after that, it became more and more ridiculous.
