Solid Effort From Talented Young Researcher
A worthwhile addition to the ever-expanding UFO podcast genre. Ryan is part of a (very) small wave of new (relatively speaking), young researchers investigating the UFO phenomena. He has managed to craft his own unique approach to the field in his first book, Somewhere In The Skies, by focusing on the human side of UFO experiences through interviews with a wide variety of people who share their strange stories with him and detail how it has impacted their lives. Like the subtitle of the book says: "A Human Approach to an Alien Phenomenon." This podcast is a broader extension of his book. Although he casts his net much wider than "direct experiencers," he covers many interesting topics and angles, and talks to a variety of guests, most with a respectable amount of credibility (no Blue Avian alien proponents, or Secret Space Program Time-Travellers here). His interview style is laid-back and non-confrontational, he is very well-informed in all of the relevant cases and characters, which ultimately leads to insightful, relevant and entertaining discussions with his guests. His skills as a host and interviewer have only gotten better over time. As with any weekly podcast, my interest varies in subject and guest from week-to-week, but overall the quality of the content he shares with listeners is outstanding. Early episodes suffer a little from uneven recording levels and sound quaity but as episodes progress that problem is eventually minimized, as Ryan gets more adept at producing his show. Somewhere in the Skies is on a short list of podcasts I recommend to friends and acquaintances who express an interest in this area of strange phenomena. I urge you to check it out!Read full review »
