I love this podcast it’s a silly and fun to listen to podcast that I used to listen to with my older sister while we did random crafts she found on Pinterest. She had cancer and it always felt extra special to get to spend time with her. Now I still listen too it. Thank you for the shoutout! I...Read full review »

I have now listened to five of these episodes so far. They’re great. Pork Companion deserves a Grammy. Update: Still listening, however many years later, and this is still the one podcast that has me bursting out laughing every time I listen. My upstairs neighbors think I’m weird. This is totally...Read full review »

I found this from the Hamilcast where Gillian promoted it and I find this funny and enjoyable to listen to. They do a great job at combining things. I love this gem and will continue to listen to it. So sad I found it this late though because it’ll probably take me about 8 months to catch up on...Read full review »

Song Salad brings me joy every time I listen. It's such a unique combination of music history and learning about facts big and small. It brings to life something I might think in my head ("what if I combined a random music genre with a purely random fact?"), but Shannon and Scott have...Read full review »

So (A) these two are adorable, and (B) they make great songs from crazy subjects, and (C) I wasn’t sure how they’d fill 40 minutes, but they make it surprisingly interesting, explaining the song genre chosen well, with cool examples, and then dig into the random subject in an interesting way....Read full review »

Just finished binging Song Salad, a podcast that is incredibly dumb and surprisingly smart, often at the same time! This show is funny and wonderful. I’ve binged non-stop for days and days. I’m a huge fan of the random article button on Wikipedia, so when I discovered a podcast that married my love of random knowledge with my love of music, I was hooked! Shannon and Scott are wonderful hosts with a great rapport, and their podcast is a lovely humorous and educational must-listen.

Every episode, the hosts approach a music genre and a wikipedia page subject and make a song in that style about that subject. The show is surprisingly educational, going into detail about the history of the genre and the history of the subject.

I love the premise and the process of the podcast. However, I feel it would be better served to shorten the overall length to 20-30 min. I would enjoy it more if it was succinct, where every word spoken enhanced the outcome.
