Ironically, the book was a translation of Dark Night of the Soul by St. John of the Cross. Based on her new memoir Caravan of No Despair, Mirabai shares how she moved through the annihilating fire of grief into the complete unknown—when all spiritual practices had dried up—and back to the hearth of love.

He has dedicated himself to advocating for preservation and revival of Lakota traditions, beliefs, and practices. Chief Looking Horse was a major speaker at the 2015 Parliament of the World's Religions, and his prayers have opened numerous sessions of the United Nations.
