My favourite podcast made by the nicest people
This is my favourite podcast. Exceptional world building, fantastic chemistry, good bits, and lovely heartfelt and emotional moments without ever getting too dark. With some of the most unique and original fantasy world building out there right now, Spout Lore has brought us everything from Arabic-speaking camel-centaurs to fantasy ice road truckers to tragically exiled moon goddesses. I was particularly captivated by season 7’s desert city of Makaal, a North African-inspired setting which stood out to me as gorgeously imagined and fairly unique as far as ttrpg podcast settings go. The cast are some of the smartest, loveliest people out there, and I’m honoured to call them, even distantly, my friendly acquaintances. They’ve drawn a fanbase of incredibly kind and creative people. As far as I can tell the best and coolest people in the world like Spout Lore. I’ve listened to all the big TTRPG podcasts and shows out there and quite a few of the little ones too, and I can only think of one or two that even hold a candle to this- and the ones I’m thinking of are produced by industry professionals on a massive budget with massive established followings. Spout Lore is already competing easily with the best of the best on a shoestring budget while their cast all have day jobs- I can only begin to imagine all the amazing things they will do as this show continues to grow.

More reviews of Spout Lore
I think Spout Lore may be the best RPG podcast out there. It’s easy and fun to listen to and I’m amazed at the intricate and fleshed out world building and character work that they do so simply. Funny and impressive as hell. More people should be listening to this!

The cast are fantastic, the humor is delightful, and the world building is as wonderful as it is ridiculous! I'm currently running a DW game for three players (human barbarian/half elf Druid/ dwarf fighter, shout out to Orga, Sabina, and Bjorn if you're reading this) so the podcast has...Read full review »

I started listening to Spout Lore because I wanted to learn more about GMing Dungeon World, and I can confidently say that not only do I learn so much from Shawn and all the players each session, I have also discovered a show that I would feel great fondness for even if I weren't a massive...Read full review »
