OK "will" is a bit strong but its about time this type of education on selling/solving problems was given to technical people who live in a world where everyone would just "get" what they were doing and worship their work. I am referring to myself but I've come across others with surprisingly...Read full review »

Amy and Alex really understand the biz and psych sides of the entrepreneurial space. They have this way of breaking things down ever so clearly and then help you overcome those obstacles that lead to failure (inaction, accountability, procrastination, etc). There is so much value here. Every time...Read full review »

A lot of podcasts out there are for people who want to build unicorns. STB gives legit advice from the hosts and guests who have done it and still do it without having to give away a piece of the pay to investors.

Love the format. It's like suddenly walking into a room where Alex Hillman, Amy Hoy, and their guests are having a business conversation (and they let you overhear it).

Great content from two people who preach what they practice, and who have built successful businesses using the methods and mindset they present. Refreshingly, Alex and Amy are also the only people I've run across who call BS on much/most of the startup advice out there - what I now refer to as...Read full review »

Amy and Alex talk about the tactical aspects of building your own product business as well as broader topics such as *why* people aspire (and sometimes fail) to do this. If you’re feeling a little stuck in the weeds I’d highly suggest listening to EP15 first and then catch up on the others. My...Read full review »

I don’t really listen to many business podcasts but this one is awesome!

If you’re new to the podcast do yourself a favour and jump straight to podcast about “Lambo Goals”or “Big Hairy Audacious Goals" and why they don’t really work. Sure it’s great for motivating you in the short term but it’ll quickly fizzle out. Amy and Alex always stress the concept of crispy...Read full review »

Amy and Alex stand out. They have practical advice born from experience in doing the things they advise you to do, which makes their advice much more relevant and helpful than your typical business-flavored armchair quarterback.

The do-the-work, no outside capital, make the business you’d want to run perspective on entrepreneurship is a refreshing change of pace.

If you like how Patrick Mackenzie, Jason Fried, and others approach business, you’ll like Amy & Alex. You can trust their advice because they’ve been there and have led hundreds of students through the process of starting a business. Great stuff!

Just wanted to say thanks, am loving Stacking the Bricks. First podcast I've ever subscribed too. There’s a lot of crappy advice on launching products floating about the internet — this show feels refreshingly honest in comparison.

It’s an odd thing to discover a completely no-holds barred discussion of startups and what it really takes to make things work. Amy and Alex give an honest, lucid description of what to do (what they’ve done) to build your own thing. Be warned - you will love or loathe this podcast! If honest,...Read full review »

Love this show, includes lots of bootstrap-y strategy and psychology but enough tactical bits that you can go out and do something 10 seconds after listening.

Stop what you’re doing and listen to Amy & Alex. It is SO hard to navigate the waters when it comes to finding real, honest business advice. There is an enormous amount of manipulation and BS out there, and I was sucked into that abyss for YEARS. “Just in case” content exists to catch prey, and...Read full review »

Alex and Amy have long produced great written content that punches stupid startup notions in the face — but I can't read when I'm driving so this is the perfect solution to keeping it fresh in my mind

Okay, that was a fantastic episode! And I feel like you guys set this up as an old-school Hollywood cliffhanger, and I'm like "Where's the next episode?*! How does it end?" Thanks again for a great podcast.

Amy and Alex have a sharp wit that I really enjoy. They are passionate about business bootstrapping, and that passion shows through in this podcast. If you are trying to build something, you should definitely have a listen.

Amy and Alex are two of the smartest people in the world of business and entrepreneurship, and they’re put in the years of work to build successful businesses, so they’re talking from experience. Highly recommend this podcast!

Sick of all the podcasts about "startups" that just push buzzwords and brouhaha about working insane hours, not worrying about revenue, etc? This is the podcast you've been waiting for!
