Wish I'd thought of it first
The concept behind the Star Wars Minute is so simple, yet so brilliant. Things start out a bit slowly, but it definitely makes you want to keep coming back for more. The hosts are certainly fans, but they keep things even-keeled and bring up criticisms without sounding like jaded fanboys. And while it becomes very, very clear that Pete hates it when Alex brings up the prequels, they'll freely discuss them whenever it's relevant to the discussion. Even if you feel like you've learned everything about Star Wars, you'll likely still get something out of this. They'll throw in interesting background and production trivia. Early versions of the script are discussed, as are variations of the storylines as told in the comics, novelizations, and radio dramas. From episode 6 on, a different guest is brought in for a week's worth of episodes to give a different perspective. All things considered, all but a few do a great job and find things to add to the show. And while a lot depends on the guest, I found the show got much funnier as it went on, and some of their tangential conversations had me laughing out loud.Read full review »
