“There are so few sources of good journalism in electronic formats to report what is civicly happening in Michigan. This is one such source. However, as a recent NY transplant to Michigan, while I applaud MI's public radio for trying, this podcast needs to figure out what it wants to be. What I want it to be is a daily summary of what's happening in Michigan's government - good, bad or indifferent. I want all the artsy-fartsy contributors to find another program to tell their stories. I also want all the football sports nuts to find another channel. Get it? Michigan Radio needs three different programs: Stateside (a thorough, in-depth look at government); Arts Mania (a wild report from mostly Ann Arbor); and Punt-in-Your-Face (a crazy look at the sports fanaticism of a cold environment where males like to run into each other to win). Michigan Radio could also score a national audience by developing a program to focus on the transportation industry solely. This is NOT meant to be a mean criticism, it is meant to be a constructive suggestion for some obviously very smart and earnest professionals in radio.”Read full review »
