Actually, I could listen to Stephen Fry talk about anything! I think he should take the latest edition of The World Book Encyclopedia, start with volume “A” and keep going! 😀

History, history of philosophy, soul searching, hard self questioning. Stephen mentors his listeners by considering history, philosophy, and language. I wish he were my personal friend and mentor. I can’t wait to hear the follow-up.

As a long devotee of Stephen Fry I had to give this a try, so glad I did. Each episode is exquisitely researched, presented, and of course, narrated. I would listen to Stephen Fry read the back of a paint can honestly... All that aside this is a rich and fun podcast, timely and also timeless....Read full review »

„Indulgence“ - I did not know that this means „Ablass“ (as in „Ablasshandel“). I love history anyway but SF makes it so much fun! Thank you, Stephen, from a German listener!

How does Stephen do it? He is so talented. This podcast is amazing. Informative as if a university lecture. Entertaining as if a Hollywood film. Only the sublime Stephen Fry could, to borrow his phrase from one episode, pull this off. Bravo.

I might not have downloaded and subsequently subscribed to this podcast, had it not been told by Stephen Fry. He tackles the subject of humanity with his inimitable humour and thought provoking rhetoric. Worth tuning in to!

Why am I getting a message that “my administrator” (?!) has turned off explicit content when I’m trying to access the podcast or subscribe to it? I couldn’t find any controls for that mysterious administrator...😟
