Steve Richards has a rare pedigree for covering UK politics: he’s written books on past prime ministers, has an encyclopaedic knowledge of elections, combined with a broadcast journalist’s understanding of who to make potentially dry matter engaging and interesting. I had a friend who complained that ‘Private Eye’ just had the same problems in it every week, so he stopped buying it. It’s good to know that there are other people who actually think about politics. Steve likes context. We need like context to understand what is going on in these concerning times.
