What an amazing podcast
I have learned so much about classical music from this podcast since I started listening to it just a few weeks ago. I have spent a lot of my life immersed in classical music (first as a professional violinist, but now as an amateur), but before this podcast I never really THOUGHT about the music. So many things I’ve learned that are both fascinating, and very moving. The first chord of Brahms 1st piano concerto and how it relates to Schumann’s suicide attempt. How the slow movement of op 59 no 1 is about Romeo and Juliet. How extensively Brahms quoted from Beethoven in the first symphony he finally published. I have loved this music my entire life — but Joshua has achieved something I wouldn’t have thought possible — I actually love these works much more deeply and profoundly after learning about them on this podcast.

Great show, I listen on headphones (am a gardener) so that I can hear the soft stuff in the program. Thank you, the show is truly entertaining and helping my obsession with classical music

Joshua, I like so much your podcast, your points of view as a conductor and musician, and your opinions. It’s like being presented to a new world in a kind way. The only thing I miss is a list of pieces you play in the episode. Thanks again for your hard work.
