More advertising than content ruins listening experience
PLEASE cut back on the advertising! It gets in the way of a lovely and thoughtful show. Ever since the "recommendations" for another podcast were tacked on to the beginning AND end of each podcast on top of the regular "brought to you by," it feels like there is more advertising than show! The actual time calculated may say otherwise, but the annoyance factor definitely gives that impression. I really cringe at Nadia Raymond's voice, giving the "recommendations" of other podcasts to listen to. I haven't noticed any other NPR-based podcast doing the same, and the regular advertising alone is annoying enough but understandable. It's a good thing I started this podcast a while ago, because I don't think I could take episode after episode catching up or binge listening of so much advertising. After listening to another interesting and thoughtful interview I want to reflect on the things said, not get a repeat of the extended description of "something else I should check out!" I got at the beginning of the podcast. If anything, it sours me on the podcast mentioned as well as Storycorps.Read full review »

However, it is very annoying that for only 30 minutes listening to this program, I have to listen to the same introduction 5 times! I wish it would be possible for the NPR to put every 5 to 10 stories...Read full review »
