“I've tried to learn Spanish informally for years through borrowed textbooks and language learning apps. Most of the things I learned never really stuck so every single time, I find myself going a couple of steps back. It has been extremely frustrating. And then I heard about Olly's Storylearning method and got extremely excited when the podcast was launched. I immediately subscribed to the podcast and followed them on Instagram. I've been listening to it for a couple of days now and it has been tremendous! In Capitulo 1, I had my usual bouts of nervousness. It was all too fast! I thought to myself, here we go again. But then, the second time I listened to it while following the text as advised, I found myself following and understanding the story. I was so amazed! Things got better with each chapter. Now, about 8 chapters in, I am able to follow most of the story the first time I listen to it and usually, in the second round, I get to pick up all the things I missed during the first.
Olly really is on to something, guys! It feels like magic, like something suddenly clicked in my brain, but of course his method has a science to it. It works! Hearing a native speaker pronounce the words and reading along (sometimes I even read the text out loud to practice!) has done wonders for my comprehension. In fact, I now understand native speakers better whenever I get to interact with them. The vocabulary part is also a terrific touch.
I highly recommend Spanish language learners to try out this podcast. It's so much better than the traditional methods we think are effective. This one makes language learning (even verb conjugation!) extremely fun. Hats off to the team!”Read full review »
