Bridan reveals concrete details of his past- what drives him to fight the Horde and what drives the Horde to chase him. This is no time for vaugaries. But the truth of the Ancients that another speaker holds suggests lines of causality far more insidious. Could Bridan's quest be in vain? The only certainty is this: when you are certain of your knowledge, there is always someone who knows more. Beware.

The Beastman escapes from the Tower of Skulls, carrying the weakened Bridan on his back, but assures that unless the swordsman reveals the truth about the Horde, there will be no more rescues. (Chapter 18)

Forced unconscious by his mother to protect him from the Watcher, Terry returns to Farrakan where the Beastman and Bridan are held captive by the Horde and the others are nowhere to be found. Can he defy his master and help them escape? (Chapter 17)

The Watcher and Terry's mother battle for his sanity as Terry struggles simply to interact with reality. (Chapter 16)

A visit from his mother disrupts Terry's routine in the Asylum but a visit by the Watcher creates chaos as the world of Terry's mother and Terry's dreams bleed into a shared reality. Even in denial, a truth once seen can never truly be unseen. A truth once known, can never truly be unknown. (Chapter 15)

Terry is trapped on Earth and must face his memories, his therapist, and his daily routine. Sometimes the ordinary is more challenging than the epic. (Chapter 14)

The Horde wastes no time sending its creatures after Bridan and company though their trust is divided by Bridan's cruel treatment of the psychic girl. The master of the Horde calls to me and for the first time, I meet dark manipulator behind Myra's resurrection, the horrific monsters, and the reason Bridan is to perform acts of such cruelty- the evil Cyrack. (Chapter 13)

Terry and the psychic girl set out to warn Bridan about the mob pursuing them but trust is not easily won by strangers in the night. The confrontation between Bridan and the girl reveals the origin of Terry's dragon form on Farrakan. When a heart beats with hope, there is always something left to lose. (Chapter 12) Warning: Victims of sexual abuse may find parts of this chapter traumatic to listen to due to some of the imagery evoked.

Faced with the potential danger of both Myra the Darkling Hunter and the wild Beastman, Bridan and Oren prepare to do battle. Meanwhile Terry discovers that the Horde has other tricks up it's sleeve- manipulating the human weaknesses and fears of the townspeople. (Chapter 11)

Terry attempts to help Bridan and Oren escape the massed armies of the Horde. They flee the Road as the Hunter pursues. (Chapter 10)

Tasked to become Bridan's guardian angel, Terry returns to the psychic girl to see if she can be used in his mission. Meanwhile the Horde catches up with Bridan en masse, revealing for the first time the vast forces the Horde has at its command. In the face of of certain doom, it only took one moment of bravery to launch Terry into the fray without hope of escape. (Chapter 9) 

Terry's encounter with the girl who could see him on Farrakan sends him back to Earth through an uncontrollable series of visions. The voice that has guided Terry till now reveals its nature and agenda even as it provides Terry with a safe place to hide. With Terry choosing to focus only on his own wishes, what will happen when he unleashes the world of all his desires? (Chapter 8)

Terry's collapse on Earth forces Bridan awake on Farrakan. With every rest break, something seems to be eating away him inside. Terry visists their destination and finds the first native creatures that can see him. Now that all the players are converging, the true nightmare is only moments away. (Chapter 7)

On Earth, Terry enlists the help of the police to solve the murder but the encounter does not go as he planned. With little help in the waking world, he finds himself forced to face the world alone. With only himself to rely on, each trial from breakfast to bed will reveal the true depth of his power. (Chapter 6)

Terry retreats to Farrakan, hoping the voice will give him the power to bring a loved one back to life. The deepening friendship between Bridan and Oren reveals dark secrets and a hope to the destroy the Horde. It only took caring about one person to once more have something to lose. (Chapter 5)

Oren presses Bridan for details on his past and the nature of the Darkling Hunter. Terry returns to reality, finding it no safer than his dreams of Farrakan. Given death, desperation, loneliness, and oblivion; it took only the smallest push to send him over the edge. (Chapter 4)

The unmasking of the Darkling Hunter reveals a threat Bridan can not defeat through force of arms. Having refused all offers of help, his death is certain. Terry discovers he is not alone in his dreams as a voice draws him further from the waking world. It only took one desperate decision to unleash the world of all our darkest dreams. (Chapter 3)

The Horde devours the town as Bridan escapes alone. Terry's grip on reality weakens as Tanya tries to help him. It only takes one moment of rage to open a wound, one moment of denial to destroy everything they had built. (Chapter 2)

Bridan walks the Road. The Horde follows, devouring all in its path. Terry watches and waits. It only took one nightmare to begin the end of everything. (Chapter 1)
