I do want to take issue with one of Jenni’s comments today though. She said that the country survived a decade of Conservative rule and so could do it again. That’s not true. During the Harper years the government disassembled much of the science-based departments, leaving them as a shell of their former capabilities. Erin O’Toole has said that he will revert to Harper’s CO2 targets and proceed with construction of more pipelines. We simply don’t have four more years in which to tolerate such behavior. We need to move quickly on CO2 reduction in every way possible immediately and continuously! How can this not be obvious with the heat dome, fires, droughts, floods, hurricanes etc pummeling Canada and the planet.
Please encourage all of the parties to take this on as a top priority!”
