“I can hardly put into words how extraordinary this podcast is. I don't think there's another one like it. It takes the listeners on remarkable journeys into folk tales and legends that are rich in magic and the paranormal. Hosts Timothy Renner and James are just so knowledgeable and thorough. It's obvious they really do their research, providing listeners with histories of both the people and places in these mysterious events. There are episodes where they even cite old newspaper articles, some even as old as the 1800's!
While the stories and guests are at the heart of this podcast, it's creators are also musicians and therefore the sound effects, background music, editing, which is all done by them, is great. Music from their band Stone Breath is featured in the closing credits and is a fantastic blending of Folk with medieval influences. Host Timothy Renner, who also does vocals for Stone Breath has a beautiful and distinct voice, both as a vocalist and a show host. Sarada (hope I spelled that right), also lends her lovely voice to readings of old news articles of unusual events
If you're looking for a podcast led by cynics and naysayers, this is definitely NOT the one for you. The mysteries of our world and the folktales inspired by them are explored with an open heart and open mind.
