Chiron is is a shamanic practitioner holding initiations in Haitian Vodou, Brazilian Quimbanda, and is a trained hoodoo root doctor in the Southern Conjure tradition. He’s also the author of Deliverance!: Hoodoo Spells of Uncrossing, Healing, and Protection and Clearing Spaces: Inspirational Techniques to Heal Your Home. AND he holds an MA in Performance Studies from New York University and a BA in Ritual Anthropology and Queer Studies from Hampshire College. We talk about techniques for communicating and forming bonds with the spirits of the land, and how to do that even if you’re living in a big city where you feel like any land spirits may be long gone. We discuss how the ocean can heal our relationships, and how the mountains can lead us to deeper integrity and purpose — but that we can’t approach them in an extractive way, wanting something.
