The first few minutes of Mike Gerle's piece on Strangers had me hooked. It wasn't just his story--Mormon kid turned gay, leather fetishist--but the quality of his voice, warm, kind and honest, that brought his personal drama right into my heart. Both my husband and I were riveted--we wanted to know this guy. We cared about his struggle even though it had nothing to do with our own. It's hard to find this kind of intimacy in any medium--even radio--but Strangers succeeded in connecting me to someone else's private world. More please!Read full review »
