It wasn't just his story--Mormon kid turned gay, leather fetishist--but the quality of his voice, warm, kind and honest, that brought his personal drama right into my heart. Both my husband and I were riveted--we wanted to know this guy. We cared about his struggle even though it had nothing to do with our own.
