When Doves Cry - Prince
I LOVE this pod in so many ways — as a self-proclaimed obnoxious verbal music critic, as a former band geek/theory student, as a dude with a job with a lot of time to listen to smart people like Kirk, and many more ways. My favorite episode is probably the Stevie episode, mostly because that episode showed Kirk’s unabashed enthusiasm for collaboration amongst insanely talented musicians. His mind being blown also amped up moments when my mind were blown. Also the whole episode, I was waiting for the reference to Will Smith’s “Wild Wild West” and Kirk delivered hilariously. Kirk’s analysis is as strong as the jams he unwraps for listeners. AND as a shameless request, I’d love to hear the care he has taken with these songs taken to my favorite, most disjointedly perfect Prince song, “When Doves Cry.” Thanks for the pod, looking forward to all the episodes to come!

Such an awesome blend of knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for what he does...I consider it a rare gem up there with Radiolab. He has gone over songs I never would have given a chance, until he explains why its a great song Great job!
