Very useful for reviewing high-yield sections while driving

I just listened to the c section episode (which is older) and basically it said (paraphrased): “once the baby is out, fundal pressure is applied to minimize bleeding while the uterus is sewn closed”. No mention of the placenta coming out whatsoever. Yikes lol. I found the sound effects jarring...Read full review »

I’m a US MS3 interested in psychiatry but needing to make it through my surgery rotation (interesting but anatomy was not my strong suit!). This podcast breaks things down so easily and directly. Between this and PsychED, I am very grateful for you Canadians <3 Thank you!!

What’s the name of the orange stuff that put on the skin just prior to surgery to kill bacteria? I forgot what it is.

I’m an RN and love this podcast to refresh my knowledge about each procedure/diagnosis/topic. It’s nice and short. It also gives me a bit more of the physicians prospective which really helps me close the loop/understand more about their role and what their goals are for the surgical patient

I listened to this out of curiosity, I am no student of medicine or any form of surgeon. While watching this I misunderstood much of what was being said, certain words or diseases (etc) need to be described or elaborated on. Once these changes have been made, this will be an amazing place to go.

This podcast is great for med students to recap important surgical topics. The content is delivered well and at a suitable level, at a good pace. Some episodes are fantastic and others less so - the ones done as an interview are mostly engaging and relevant, but some other episodes just sound...Read full review »

It helps me a LOT for reviewing before exams! I’m a medical student in Brazil and it is a very helpful tool to study the topics in another language as well

Great review of the approach of breast lump. One small thing I want to mention, based on current guidelines, breast exam ( either self or clinical) is not recommended to do routinely alone or with mammo for screening of breast cancer .

The podcast reviews what you need to know. Helped me a question or two from my attendings/residents and helped me ask them good follow up questions. Info here lined up w/ Pestana’s and Recall.

Now suddenly not all episodes available and you get multiple types of podcasts not related to surgery

iTunes podcast disaster: these are not video podcasts. Shame on iTunes or whoever put it as video podcasts

As a PA student, I listened to this while driving back and forth to my general surgery rotation site every day. It has a lot of good info, and it really helped me study during the 40-minute commute. However, it has some really annoying sound effects that are very distracting. The ambulance...Read full review »

A great podcast with some awesome topics. As the presenters vary, some of the topics are not as sharp but still worth a listen. Perfect for med students or junior doctors.

An excellent learning resource for essential topics in surgery and how to survive your rotation, make a decent referral, and get inside the head of a surgeon.

From a civilian's standpoint the contents sound useful. They help me understand what surgeons do, and need in order to do their work, the variety of specialties and the parts of the process. I got thru the first 100 so far and only find fault with many of the music inserts, primarily those...Read full review »

I'm an Australian student in the middle of my surgical rotation and I LOVE this podcast series! I listen to this podcast in between lectures or study breaks as a way to keep the massive amount of material in Year 1 of med school in perspective.
