Disappointing
Listened to several episodes, with hope in my heart after hearing the adverts for this series. None of those episodes offered any new insights but I had to stop listening completely after the Patriarchy episode. Although the two lady interviewees were cogent and reasonable, it was painful to hear Evan persistently putting forward the view that the patriarchy was/is not deliberately imposed by men and/or that women must be complicit for it to continue. Has he not read history (eg how long and hard women had to struggle to get the vote) or current affairs (eg the recent shootings of Tara Fares & Suad al-Ali)? Each episode I heard showed a pitiably feeble intellectual analysis of the issues. There are far better argued and analysed podcasts out there. This one is not worth bothering with.
