No one on this pod ever expresses an opinion other than those widely held and often heard from folks on one side of an argument.Questions aren’t debated thoughtfully, no one ever changes their mind. The host seems insufficient to the task. The only novel/redeeming part to this show is when they...Read full review »

Listened to several episodes, with hope in my heart after hearing the adverts for this series. None of those episodes offered any new insights but I had to stop listening completely after the Patriarchy episode. Although the two lady interviewees were cogent and reasonable, it was painful to hear...Read full review »

A good start to an interesting podcast though they are a bit short at times. Perhaps a more long form version would be good.

If you need a good laugh listen to this presenter attempting to justify the failure of his organisation, the BBC, to deny experts access to its brexit coverage. One of the examples to support this is given as the Bank of England’s failure to agree with Danny Blanchflower on interest rates. And...Read full review »

The BBC adopts the classic style of pitting one person against another which I find prevents any exploration of ideas. I also note that the experts interviewed tend to be journalists, who are not experts. Academics, lawyers, doctors, teachers and so on would be much more helpful.

An interesting podcast discussing relevant, thought provoking topics. Some innovative ideas from articulate guests.

As always, Evan Davis is a brilliant host and chairperson of the debate.

One of the best podcasts! Wish there were more episodes. Even though I live in the US the issues you cover are universal.

Sometimes, lecture formats can leave out room for debate and discussion between conflicting experts. This podcast gives useful insight into the nature of modern issues, and it is the many-sided approach that speaks the most refreshing truths to multi-faceted issues.

The whole discussion seemed to be all about making men feel more comfortable with an uncomfortable truth rather than facing the truth head on. Intellectually dissatisfying and unedifying.

I love listening to different points of view to form rounded opinions on topics but I can’t bear all the shouting over each other and the “well if you’d left me finish... I let you have your say”, it’s frustrating and a waste of time. My biggest bug bear is the interviewer (I’m looking at you...Read full review »

Always thought provoking. Only wish it was a bit longer. 27 mins is not enough!
