Somewhat misleading description
This podcast, while well-produced and featuring an accomplished, knowledgable host and guests, is something of a bait-and-switch. It promises in-depth discussions of genre films with female filmmakers, but in reality only about a quarter or a third of each episode's discussion is of the topic film. The majority of of the conversation tends to revolve around the filmmakers' own work, which is a totally valid and interesting subject for a podcast, but if you (like me) are a big horror fan and are really looking forward to a lengthy discussion of, say, "Carrie," or "The Silence of the Lambs," you will probably be frustrated. Listen for the perspectives of female filmmakers about what it's like to be a filmmaker today, but this podcast does not deliver in-depth genre discussion as advertised.Read full review »
