Merits and flaws...
Don't believe the haters. Investing actual time in researching these terrible roleplaying systems would take away from the underlying Mystery Science Theatre vibe of the show. It's actually a great way for aspiring designers to avoid common pitfalls of RPG design. Plus the guys are super accessible and cop to it when they're off base from a lack of research.
