meh
you won't learn anything new here that you couldn't get from five minutes on Wikipedia sorry, as they say "we are not pilots, we are not engineers…" So why would I want to hear an average persons opinion on research they gathered from the Internet. i'm used to listening to...Read full review »

I actually have no idea what they’re yapping about in around the first 10 minutes though

Ladies. I have just found your podcast and am LOVING binge listening to all your episodes. However… the personal banter at the start can be a bit much and I think the addition of a timing in the show notes would be a huge plus!

I’ve listened to dozens of true crime and disaster podcasts, and I’ve found this one hard to listen. 7 minutes in the beginning of the episodes to talk about random things before they even get to the ‘housekeeping’ rants. They are very overexggerated about numerous things per episode. I get it,...Read full review »

I only just discovered this pod, and the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is I’ve never heard of a podcast that doesn’t have any free access. I’m mostly through the back episodes and I’ll miss Stephanie and Shelly’s masterful storytelling. I hope the Patreon peeps continue to enjoy these skies.

I like this one a lot. It’s good if you’re interested in plane crashes and it is sensitively handled. It is well-researched. However once they went patreon-only I stopped subscribing.

Initially I enjoyed this podcast. I liked the difference between this and the other air disaster podcasts I've tried, which is stories of the people going through these horrors. But because I began this podcast when they already had quite a back catalog means an overload of personal...Read full review »

Let’s just get to the point. They title doesn’t say “Life story” I wanna here what the tile says your gonna be talking about. As someone who aviation is there life. I wanna just hear the story. Other than hearing all the annoying stuff at the beginning. This is a great podcast.
crystal mtn via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/27/23
The topic is fascinating. But the banter and the laughing at the beginning is inappropriate and disrespectful. It’s also mindless. Just skip the nonsense and get to the topic.

As someone who studies disasters in the academic setting, this podcast is my latest obsession and a really great handling of a really sensitive subject matter. It is definitely geared towards non-aviation-knowledgeable listeners, but I don’t think that necessarily means people in the field...Read full review »

I listen to all the plane crash podcasts and while they're all great, this one is my favorite for three main reasons - 1) The hosts voices are pleasant to listen to 2) They to not interrupt the story with ads 3) They focus on the people involved in the incident so we learn more about...Read full review »

The best air disaster podcast out there. It is great that this is made by women, it really makes a difference. There is a bit of small talk at the beginning and the end of every episode but if it is not your cup of tea, just skip it. The story telling is excellent and there is NO COMMERCIALS!...Read full review »

I thoroughly enjoy this podcast. The two hosts are terrific in telling these stories. Great format to each episode and particularly enjoy them including the perspective of the passengers as part of the story. Similar podcasts focus mostly or only on the what and why of the incident…and they get...Read full review »

This is one of two very different air disaster pods I enjoy, and while they often cover similar events, I love the humanity focus of this one. Both Stephanie and Shelly are very well-spoken and each episode takes me on a full journey. I’m mostly caught up with previous seasons and am subscribed...Read full review »

Way too much talk about non related stuff. Close to half of the last episode I listened to was not related to the topic at all. This seems to be getting worse as time passes. How they speculate on peoples last moments is out of line and describing an air crash on a poetic way just makes no sense!

For some reason I only get episodes 42 and higher. Why? It’s so weird. I do like the stories. I usually fast forward through the banter at the beginning and end.

I so appreciate the chemistry between the hosts; it’s fun yet they get serious about the actual air disasters they discuss, with great respect for all involved. As a librarian, I especially appreciate the research they do and the writing, as well as the production value. And despite the fact that...Read full review »

Trying to listen to my first episode of this and 15 minutes in the hosts are rambling on about playground equipment and McDonald’s. Will not continue with this.

I kind of like the conversation at the beginning! I don’t know why so many people hate it so much.

I absolutely love his podcast!!! A good well-researched podcast can be really hard to find but you can tell these ladies put the hard work in to make it as accurate as possible! Their storytelling is excellent and I feel like I’ve learned a lot from them! Worth checking out this podcast!!

I love the main content of this podcast, its done brilliantly. It would be 5 star perfection if I didn’t have to skip the banal pre conversation….

I am listening to this podcast for the first time and the two hosts have been rambling on for over 10 minutes with no mention yet of the main topic of the episode. It’s pretty much unlistenable. There are superior podcasts covering the same subject material.

This is absolutely my favourite podcast! I love the banter and relationship between Stephanie and Shelly. The podcast has the right level of description - especially with some of the more complex cases. This is a great podcast. It’s refreshing to hear a unique take on this type of show. A lot of the bad reviews seem to be done in bad faith, I would not let them sway your opinion. Keep up the great work!

There are things I like about this podcast…voices, incident content, the right amount of detail unless you’re looking for very technical stuff. My only complaint is taking 7-10 minutes to get to the story while hosts share personal stuff. I would have shared a 3.5 or if possible. Thanks for...Read full review »

I listened to one of their earliest episodes and was put off by the giggling, which after reading reviews it seems others are as well. I thought that things would get better, but even recent episodes include the same and worse. What is worse is that they liken these events to “true crime” stories...Read full review »

I’ve listened to this podcast for over a year and liked it for the most part. I’ve actually recommended the pod to several friends. My daughter and I enjoyed listening to the podcast each week over the past year or so.
