He's never read the books and we get to experience them from a first time readers point of view via him. It's like going back through a mystery novel and discovering who did what and why, and making all kinds of guesses, except we know all the answers and Matt, the other host, has to hide what he knows and try to give Josh lots of other viable options for why things could be true.
