Every episode is an emotional rollercoaster. Handled sympathetically and realistically by Terry. I have come to know, almost intimately, dozens of combatants who fought in WW1 and died over A CENTURY AGO! Lest we forget them. 😔🌺

I’m a Yank and ready love this podcast. I was lucky enough to live in England for a couple years and feel a real bond with the British people. Terry really brings these stories of the men who fought in the trenches to life. A must listen.

Having been interested in the Great War, spending many years visiting the world war 1 battle fields, this podcast gives the listener a real understanding and insight from the soldiers point of view. Walking the battlefields in which are now essentially fields reclaimed by years of farming,...Read full review »

Thank you for an incredibly well researched and moving series. Each episode draws together the personal experiences of young men and women from all over the world. Their stories resonate across the Commonwealth still.

I really enjoy the Tales from the Battlefield podcast. I find myself riveted to the stories Terry shares about those that served in the Great War. The latest episode on brothers was fascinating. The podcast has really expanded my knowledge of the Great War and I also really appreciate the way...Read full review »

Some interesting information and nice to listen to something just a little bit different from the normal Great War podcasts. I had thought of doing the Front Line Walk some day, but listening to the podcast I now know I’d never, ever attempt it. Appears to be horribly difficult

Well done Terry on producing a very interesting and informative show. I’m a fairly new listener and was starting at the beginning and had listened to the first 2 shows in order. Today tho I just had to listen to the Arnold Ridley one as soon as it was released. What a emotional show that was, we...Read full review »

I recently listened to the story of the Talbot House, which was fabulous. I stayed there on the night of September 25th, 2016 when I traveled there with my father and my son prior to our visit the following day to the Regina Trench Cemetery. We spent some very special time with my Great Uncle...Read full review »

Terry had found an interesting niche in what is a very large subject. He is providing information that is not found elsewhere. It is obvious from some of the recordings that he is still learning “the trade’ but this does not detract from the interesting subject matter that he is coming up...Read full review »

I am a devoted listener of this podcast. Really like the way Terry goes of the beaten track concerning the subjects of war, the owner of the Lochnager crater, people who own a b&b at the Somme, housekeepers of the Ulster tower,… very original. Keep up the good work!

Very informative. These are the lives of the many men who signed up and bravely did their duty but history and time have forgotten and family silence has all but erased them.
